LAHORE: As the deadline for the resignations of Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah set by the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) led all parties conference (APC) expired on Sunday, the party announced that it will discuss its protest strategy with its allies before a future course of action is announced by the steering committee.
A meeting of PAT’s central core committee was held under the supervision of Dr Tahirul Qadri. In the meeting, a strategy of protest was discussed, keeping in view the end of the deadline, although other options also came up.
Dr Qadri, while addressing the core committee, said, “A protest strategy will be shared and discussed with all the APC participants before it is finalised by the steering committee.”
A press release issued by PAT’s head office added that in pursuit of justice, for the Model Town martyrs, the party will proceed with collective ownership as it has already been declared by the APC as a matter of humanity.
It added that we will go to any stretch for the hectic pursuit to seek justice. We have already shown immense patience and gave ample time so that justice may happen. Our peace-centric policy, taken as our weakness, will be corrected very soon, the party added.
“We have always made efforts within the contours of law and democratic norms,” it added.
The APC hosted by PAT on December 30 of last year had given January 7 deadline for the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over their alleged involvement in the killing of 14 workers of the party in a clash with police in June 2014.
The APC had formed a steering committee and empowered it to convene a meeting on January 8 to formulate a course of action if Sharif and Sanaullah do not resign by January 7.
Meanwhile, PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri also held a meeting with the heirs of martyrs and seized workers of the revolution march
Qadri added that we had to lift coffins but could not get justice, yet we did not raise a finger to the dignity of courts.
Liars and national plunderers are threatening that they will not spare the judges of the Supreme Court, he said. The Supreme Court is the highest constitutional seat of justice and not some offshore company of any corrupt family, the press release quoted the PAT leader as saying.
“If murderers of Model Town take to the streets, they will not be let go by the people,” Qadri warned.
The PAT chief asked, “Why have the custodians of the Constitution fallen silent, on the threats of a disabled and unworthy former prime minister?” He added that workers of PAT are the actual soldiers of Islam and Pakistan.
Great workers are standing firm with and for the oppressed ones against the oppressors. In order to get justice, workers are fully prepared and are waiting for my command, he said.saya senang dikarenakan kunjungan Antum di blog ini dan membaca tulisan PAT Led APC Gives Jan 7 Deadline For Resignations Of Shehbaz, Sanaullah.
